The NON Highlight Reel.

‘m not picture perfect. Not even close. Those who know me best would be more than happy to tell you that, but I’m more concerned about those who might be reading this blog that don’t know me best. I’m thinking about those people who stop by and see beautiful pictures – guess what, they are staged – and yummy recipes, and immaculate homes, and maybe when they see those pictures, they leave feeling like they don’t have their act together. I know I’ve felt that way. Actually, I’ve felt that way a lot recently and it doesn’t feel good at all.
Tulsa Home Tours {The Merrick’s Home}

So last week I had the most brilliant idea. I was heading over to my friends Robby and Taylor Merrick’s house to take pictures of some of my original print art that she had used in her home – my longhorn print, some cows from the Camo farm collection, and of course – my horse in the burl wood frame. So I thought to myself…why in the world would I just take a few boring pictures of my art work only, when there is so much amazingness in their home?
Let’s Talk About MOM GUILT

If you are looking for one of those lists of 100 fun things to do with your kids this summer, you’ve come to the WRONG place. However, if you are already feeling a bit, or perhaps even a lot, overwhelmed about running crazyville this summer and you want to feel better about yourself – pull up a chair, grab a cup of coffee, and stay awhile.
Visiting New York City With Kids (Part 2)

So you’ve seen the Empire State Building and once in Times Square is enough. Or maybe you’re staying long enough that you’d like to visit something a bit off the beaten path. Today is for you! We’re talking about some of the best spots in NYC for kids.
Visiting New York City With Kids (Part 3)

This is my third post on visiting New York City with children. We’ve been to Central Park, walked the Brooklyn Bridge and the Williamsburg Bridge. It’s time to address the elephant in the room: Times Square. Just as I will shout my love for Central Park from the rooftops, I make little effort to hide […]
You’re Not Alone…

This weekend, I was at a party and someone asked me “So what exactly is cc&mike?” I laughed and then I pondered. The truth is, I don’t know exactly what it is yet, and that’s ok. Only time will tell. But for now…It’s our little creative corner of the world; it’s a place to enjoy shared interests with my sisters and others; it’s a place to grab a recipe or read a story; it’s a place to perhaps get ideas for your next home renovation or build; but today it is something so much more than that.
Visiting New York City With Kids

“I’d like to visit New York City, but I can’t imagine living there.”
The fact that I’m raising my kids in NYC comes as a bit of a surprise to me, too! It’s as far from small town Oklahoma as you can get.
Here’s the thing, though. NYC is a great place for kids! Lots of families are raising their kids here. Over 1 MILLION children are the public school system. That means there are many, many kid friendly places in the city.
Room Reveal – Kids Art Room

So I am really excited to do our first official room reveal from our new house and for some reason I’m cracking up that it’s the kid’s art room. I had so much fun designing this room when we were building the house and the funniest part about it is that it is the room I tried to get the architect to scrap when we were in the design stages. Mike Miller, you were right and I was wrong. I’ll say it again…you were right I was wrong. I’m SO, SO, SO glad we kept it.
Introducing Rhesa Storms
Meet one of my big sisters – Rhesa Storms. She’s pretty amazing. She has a laugh that will light up a room. She is intelligent and witty and beautiful and extremely talented. I’ve been telling her for years that she needs to sell her photographs and thank goodness, I finally convinced her to join me on this journey of selling our pictures as print art for home design. Rhesa lives in NYC with her husband and two kids and you can read more about her on…
Well Hello There! We are cc&mike

While getting ready for this business launch, I’ve been thinking a lot about the word START. So I looked up the definition: START: 1. To begin or set out, as on a journey.
