Hello from CC and Mike and welcome to the Deck the Halls Christmas Tour!
We are so glad that you’re here. You might be heading our direction from the fabulous lifestyle blog of Shabby FuFu. How amazing was her kitchen tour?! I am so honored to be among such amazingly talented women on this tour including A Thoughtful Place who is after me on the tour. Make sure you stop by her blog when you are done with our post!
Our Kitchen is probably our favorite place in our home and it is always our favorite space to design when we are building or doing a project so I’m honored to share our kitchen with you guys today. If you saw my living room tour yesterday, then you know my living room is bright, bold, and colorful. I like collected interiors so my living room is full of colorful vintage finds as well as my husband’s mid-century modern couches that he had as a child, recovered in chocolate velvet. So all that to say, my Christmas modern home decor in the kitchen was kept very simple as to not compete with the bold colors in our living room. My focus was on adding fur throws to the backs of my bar-stools and adding lots of fresh greenery and flowers. You will also see that I made a beautiful Italian Coconut Cream cake and dressed it up for Christmas. This cake is delicious and makes a beautiful centerpiece for any kitchen bar or dining room table. Trust me, it’s a crowd pleaser, too. I’ll be sharing the quick and easy recipe for the Italian Coconut Cream Cake tomorrow so make sure to head back to the blog if you are still looking for a great recipe to make for Christmas.
Some of my favorite accents in our kitchen is our back-splash tile from Ann Sacks and our Brass lantern light fixtures from Neiman Marcus. Another item I get asked about a lot is our waterfall ledge counter-top. Yes, I loved marble but we chose to go with a quartz counter-top because, let’s be honest, we would have stained that marble on the first day we moved in. I also get asked a lot about our Thermador Range. Yes, we absolutely love it. It has a griddle built in that has changed our lives and we use it daily, literally. If you are building a house or doing a kitchen remodel, I can’t recommend this range enough.
You can shop my kitchen look below and if you like the deer print that you see, he is available for purchase in our print shop.
Thank you so much for stopping by CC and Mike’s and make sure to head to A Thoughtful Place next to see Courtney’s gorgeous holiday kitchen and make sure to stop by all the other amazingly talented blogger’s Deck the Hall Tours as well (links at the bottom of this post). Huge thank you to Jennifer at Decor Gold Designs and Randi from Randi Garrett Design for inviting us to be a part of this tour!
This is our breakfast nook which is right off of our kitchen. We recently redid it for less than $500 during the One Room Challenge. You can read about that here.
