Per your requests we are sharing CC and Mike’s Extra Crispy Candied Brussel Sprouts Recipe today!
First of all, let me just say that these Brussel sprouts are aptly named because I swear, they taste like more of a dessert than a vegetable. I don’t mean to brag, but they have been known to steal the show at many a cookout and are my most requested side when we go to neighborhood get togethers.
We made CC and Mike’s Extra Crispy Candied Brussel Sprouts Recipe to go along with Mike Miller infamous smoked ribs this week and shared on Instagram Stories and oh boy was there a lot of interest. My DM’s were blowing up with requests for us to post the recipe and many of you mentioned that you wanted to make it for Easter this weekend. So, Emmy and I filmed a little impromptu cooking session of us making the candied Brussel sprouts and I also worked up this blog post for you guys. If you prefer to watch the cooking instructions for the candied Brussels sprouts you can do that on our YouTube channel. Emmy has been working hard on her production and videography skills and made this video of us cooking the candied Brussel sprouts together:
If you prefer to read the step by step instructions for how to make the candied Brussel sprouts, you can do that in the blog post below. We also received a lot of requests for a tutorial on how Mike Miller does his ribs. We will make sure to film and photograph the next time he makes those and show you guys. We are already begging him for the next round, trust me. Hopefully we can talk him into it over the weekend!
HOPE YOU ENJOY CC and Mike’s Extra Crispy Candied Brussel Sprouts Recipe! We would LOVE for you to tag us on Instagram or Facebook and share if you make and of our #ccandmikerecipes. CC AND MIKE RECIPES
what you will need:
2 pound bag of Brussel sprouts (cut into halves)
1 cup of Craisins (plus some extra to sprinkle on top at the end if you’d like)
1/2 cup of real bacon pieces
1/2 cup of real, organic maple syrup
1/3 cup of olive oil
1/2 cup diced onions
1 tsp of minced garlic
fresh ground salt and pepper to taste
STEP ONE:
Cut the ends off the Brussel sprouts and then cut into halves
STEP TWO
In a bowl, mix together the wet ingredients and stir well; then add crushed garlic.
STEP THREE
Put the Brussel sprouts in a large cast iron skillet then pour the Craisins, Onions, and Bacon Pieces on top. NEXT, pour the wet ingredients all over the top and mix well. Finish with fresh ground pepper and salt. Make sure that all the wet ingredients coat the Brussel sprouts evenly and that there are plenty of craisins and bacon mixed to the top (they tend to find their way down and stick to the bottom and you want some on top as well) before you put it in the oven.
STEP FOUR
Bake for 400 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes.
STEP FIVE
Remove Brussels from the oven and mix well. Turn the oven to broil and let it preheat. When the oven is heated to broil, place the Brussel sprouts back in on the top rack for 3 to 5 minutes until they come out nice and extra crispy on the top. Thus the name, CC and Mike’s Extra Crispy Candied Brussel Sprouts Recipe. 🙂
Here’s a look at how they come out of the oven:
Absolute yumminess!
And like I said, any vegetable that can pass as an almost dessert is a win in my opinion!
These make an excellent side dish for cookouts and also we love them for special occasions like Easter, Christmas, and pretty much any family gathering that we have. We also love to pair them with our OVEN BAKED BRISKET:
Our brisket and CC AND MIKE’S EXTRA CRISPY CANDIED BRUSSEL SPROUTS RECIPE are the staples of a great neighborhood or family get together! Just add some other yummy sides and maybe our Easy Apple Skillet Pie for dessert and trust me, there will be nothing but smiles and full, satisfied tummies from all your guests.
Hope you enjoy CC and Mike’s Extra Crispy Candied Brussel Sprouts Recipe.
